I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

$100K in Ohio
$250K in Chicago
$300K in NYC (boring part)
$500K in NYC (fun part)
Fair enough! Guess it depends where you are.
Probably around 150-200k is a lot of money now. It's crazy to think how low 100k is in today's world. It's still quite a bit of money, but with the rising costs of everything it feels so low
Id also say about $150k,
$100k is decently comfortable but def don’t feel as though I’m making a lot
Agreed its comfortable enough but not how it used to be where you could afford things easily with no worries
San Diego $400k for family of 3.
I like to think of it as to when i entered college. I thought 100K would be great back then (early 2000s) but with inflation that would be 155K in today's economy.
