Microsoft Received some feedback yesterday that I’m “Too smart for the role and they feared that I’d get bored and leave quickly. “ It’s honestly the most confused I’ve ever left a call. Does anyone know what this means? I thought it was a compliment initially but in retrospect it just doesn’t seem very genuine. Have y’all had anyone hit you with this one?
Hi Fishes, I am considering a Senior Engineer role with Alteryx (previously Hyper Anna) Sydney. If it's not too much trouble, I was hoping if anyone here could share their experience of working at Alteryx Sydney in terms of Culture, work life balance, politics, work pressure, people, Leadership and product. Thanks.

Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

If your goal is to make good money with good WLB, then try to go to the biggest hedge fund you can as a fund accountant. My brother did this with only 4 years at big 4 in audit. 14 years later his bonus alone is $430,000
Damn how is it possible for fund accountant to get paid so well? I was recently reached out by a small PE firm 15B or so and their team is very small. I wonder if I should aim for a larger firm first before making a move to a smaller firm with more diverse roles but smaller finance team
Fund accounting is a natural exit. Just make sure you go in-house at PE/HF and not to an outsourced fund admin.
You can also always pivot to advisory/consulting if you want to see something different
People in fund admins mostly just try to exit to their clients as fund accountants. PE/HF is usually the goal. Mutual funds or similar investment companies are often the outcome, which generally aren’t nearly as lucrative or interesting
Problem is fund admins will usually be competing with big 4 CPAs/fund auditors for those jobs and often have to get their foot in the door at a less desirable shop or otherwise hop around a bit to get to the right one

Thanks for all the responses. I will look into all that was mentioned. Definitely looking for WLB and better pay long term.
