I....I'm having a hard time feeling sympathy for the dude. Like I understand the sentiment OP, but armed robbery is pretty shitty. 38 years is kinda wild, but dude don't go around robbing people lol
So it's not that he's sorry, it's that he thought he'd get a less severe punishment for committing two armed robberies? Sorry, but I have a really hard time feeling sorry for this guy.
That it would be that. He said in California he would've gotten 8 years, and he thought laws were the same across the US. So much wrong with our education, corrections, etc systems in our country. I guess 1 step at a time.
I mean obviously a1 haha. It's just like, he came from a neighborhood where you grow up in gang life. It's hard to shake that type of culture. It's a failure of a lot of systems at the core.
Pues i feel you OP. Shit is really tough. I grew up in Harlem, and have a lot of friends that took the wrong route. It sucks, and I'm not sure I see it changing any time soon
Should have gotten the death penalty
Harsh sentencing doesn't work a deterrent. If you grow up around crime, you're probably more likely to commit crime or see crime committed. Change the environment, change the outcome?? Let's just first admit there's a problem with the environment and we can't even get folks to agree with that
That's why we need Betsy Devos
Am I the only one seeing the irony as you are (inadvertently) making the case for tougher prison sentences?
Seems like more harsh sentencing would have been a deterrent in this case...
Increasing the punishment will reduce crime
