So now on paper new college grads see this:
1) EY - Unlimited PTO
2) CohnReznik - 21 days PTO and it can rollover up to a certain cap
Who wins the recruiting game?
Unlimited PTO seems to work fine at other companies where there’s more balance .. at least that’s what I’ve seen w friends. However it most def doesn’t work in PA.

ThLet's be honest. You didnt CHOSE to go mid. But I'm glad its working out for you. That's a solid move from your firm.
@EY3 ... I had an offer from all 4 big4, and still chose CR because of industry, culture, and quite frankly I wanted a work-life balance... But good try at thinking you're better than everyone else 🤷
Lmao great move. Working for a firm that values you sounds so nice.
EY is punching the air right now

Love what's been happening at CR. Raises, bonuses, back pay and adding 2 extra holidays to our calendar. It certainly hasn't been easy during the pandemic but as employees were being treated well
I’ve been really happy w/ all the moves they’ve made aside from the switch to CCH.. and that’s the one affecting morale of my office the most. National is aware of the impact it’s having and doesn’t care. Kessler seems like a really good dude though. He’s trying to do right by everyone, for sure.
I’m gonna be honest, I was glad to talk to any of the recruiters set up with a booth at my career fair on my college campus. I knew diddly squat about mid tier vs big 3.5 (obviously knew and had topical knowledge of what the biggest firms were, but I would have thought the fifth, sixth, etc. down to top 20 were all similar. Wouldn’t have expected this level of elitism). I don’t think any of the mid tier firms are necessarily bad, and think we need to get off our high horse to eat some humble pie 🙄. Just my two cents
I am shocked this was done. It makes a lot of sense and I am glad the firm is receptive to this, particularly because the first two weeks of January are not busy anyway.
I think it varies by office. My group hits the ground running immediately in Jan. Still appreciate the gesture though. And I’ll definitely be using that extra carryover!
Honestly, if other big 4 are smart enough, they will keep their PTO policy and bash EY’s unlimited PTO as corporate scam and bad for employers and run around with $36M/entitlement story during campus recruiting, after a couple years of word of mouth, EY will be on the bottom of any good talents list on campus.
They’re already just barely scraping the good talents list on the campus I went to
A mid tier kool-aiding harder than big4? What a week this has been
It’s not the teams it’s the work, we’re the friendly firm bro 😎
