One of the most ironic things in sales is all of the new hire culture and training meetings you have to attend at the start, just to get stuck in the trenches immediately after getting through everything.

This is the fourth company I’ve worked for and it always feels like playing with Sesame Street for 2 weeks before getting sent into no man’s land 😂

I’ve been in sales for nearly 3 years doing alright and all of a sudden I have developed an anxiety towards sales that has made my job unbearable in the last few months.
I haven’t made any major mistakes that triggered this, I just gradually developed so much self doubt.

Like I spend way too long overthinking my phrasing in communication lately…

Curious what the base and commission structure is for inside sales and associate director of sales in biotech (also anyone else who wants to share pls put industry). Paid hourly or salary? At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.

Should I leave my company? Been here 1.5 years and was told I was getting a management promotion 5-6 months ago.Still no solid traction and they are opening up a req for it 😑no one on the current sales team has ever been promoted (2 years)except our boss who has been promoted 3 times. After 5 years as an AE / Sales Manager, what are the next possible career paths?

I love sales and wish I could stay as an individual contributor, but I feel like I am not getting anywhere with the salary i want, and the job itself I feel isn't using all of my potential/skillets (plus I'd like to learn and put into practice more).

Today I was thinking about different sales experiences I’ve had–both as the buyer & the salesman. What was the best and/or worst sales experience you’ve ever had as a customer?

My company covers in depth results each week, including meetings set/attended, wins, revenue, retention etc. I feel as if evaluating in such depth is detrimental to the psyche, as you never get to “ride the high.” In addition, some weeks are simply slower than others, and it’s not always representative of what the results at the end of the period or quarter will be. Is this not a big deal, and I’m I placing too much importance on it? Or is it beneficial to review results less frequently?
