Owners Reps - have you found ANY certifications that are actually worth it? I'd love to know.

I got my CCM a few years back as my employer paid for it, but it overall was an easy exam, and didn't really teach me or qualify me for anything new.

PMP, I personally didn’t feel it made me a better PM. But sometimes Clients may ask for the the PM to have it as part of their scoring matrix.

I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. I’m 5 yrs out of college. Any advice?

I’d to get a job in a small architecture firm or work for a developer to help build up my network. For the past 6 years I’ve taught high school architecture and engineering and done real estate on the side. I have an industrial design degree and tremendous construction and real estate sales knowledge. I also started architecture school but stupidly switched to industrial design. I don’t want to go back to school for architecture. Ultimately, I want to own my own company developing real estate.
