Are you looking more boutique or biglaw? Transition to biglaw pros as a 3rd or 4th year with minimal pros experience may be a challenge given your billing rate and flat fee budgets.
Good point, sorry, was trying to keep the post from being any longer 😂. Prefer boutique or a regional/midlaw firm. I’m in the Midwest (not Chicago).
I'm not sure how involved you are as in-house but I think it would be not only a stretch to get 3rd or 4th year but also not even in your best interest. Budgets are tight and if you've never actually drafted an application or office action response, you are going to want that lower billing rate to spend more time/stay under budget. Patent pros gets much harder the more senior you get. Best wlb is honestly as a green first year who can spend all day drafting and get 8 billable hrs in close to 8 hrs. If you're really advanced, just use the extra time to relax a little and double check things.
