Be patient and the right opportunity will come. This really helped me get to where I am now. But if your job is mentally and emotionally taxing, you should prioritize yourself first.
The faster you can acclimate to long hours the easier your life will be. Design the rest of your life around the hours you need to put in and leave plenty of fail-safes if you can in case things go longer than they "should." Find a mentor if you can, but don't go trusting everyone where you work either.
In the same boat. Currently an analyst (I was an intern over the summer sorry I haven't changed it yet) and I think I need to find a mentor asap.
Dang guess we’re all in the same place... Also IB analyst 1. Tips on how to socialize in the white boys club, who to consider a friend, what to practice to pick up the job quickly would be nice
Yep, this is what has been helpful for me I've found
I was an intern last summer and was promoted full time in Fall ‘21. My mentor told me in the beginning that I will learn how to do things before I learn why. Its been a little over a year since I’ve been in my role and I have been learning more of the whys lately, but all this to say, you will learn with time. Definitely try to get multiple mentors that are of your race, outside your race, within your field, and/or skip level.
