Looking for a new challenge. Interested in a referral into Salesforce. I’m currently a top performing senior Field Sales Executive selling new business subscription and SaaS into the corporate tech vertical. I live in the DMV area. Hit me up if you’d be willing to help with a referral at Salesforce. Thanks!!

Gartner is great for training (that’s where I started my sales career) but they will underpay you. Good benefits though
BDR is a very focused inside sales role, not a good choice if you are a current field seller. You will need to to spend 12-18 months in the role at SF before you can goto a field role.
Try to go in as a small market AE
Salesforce has strict time limits before you get promoted.
My friend was number 1 in the entire country for SF and couldn’t get promoted for 13 months.
Their promotion structure is very rigid.
BDR
Financial service AE
Benefits are too notch but it’s all based on what accounts you get.
In terms of pay you can get stuck with accounts that have unlimited licensing agreements and not make any commissions.
No idea about any other company.
I worked at sf for 2 years this is very true and if you're an ae you have to be in role for 2 years now. So much easier to jump ship for higher pay/ quality of life.
I think Salesforce benefits are awesome and have been super pleased. You can go to https://www.getsalesforcebenefits.com/en to read up some more.
I made the same move from IT staffing to SaaS sales 5 years ago. I recommend staying in software/technology sales. You’ll learn the skills you need as your career progresses no matter where you are
Gartner is 2 years in between promotion cycles. Do you know what business unit you’d be working for at Gartner? End-user, vendor? Mid-market, large enterprise?
So many people I know at Gartner are trying to leave and get into a role at Salesforce. If you have an offer from Salesforce already, seems like a good opportunity. If you do decide to go the Gartner route, your best bet is to align to a specific vertical.
Don't take the bdr role
Any specifics as to why in your opinion?
People I personally know are very happy at both Gartner and Salesforce. Salesforce is very focused on their application whereas Gartner gives you an expanded view of the industry.
