Interesting. I did the exact opposite and told my boss early with every pregnancy to protect my job. I told the rest at 20 weeks since it was all too obvious.
Same here! I also had terrible morning sickness/
exhaustion during that first trimester. It was so bad I had to work from home a lot or leave the office early and I didn’t want my team thinking that I was slacking.
But do what you feel is right! There is no wrong way to handle it!
I would wait for as long as you can. If I could do it again I would have waited at least 20 weeks!
Tell you partner you’re not seriously ill and there nothing for them to worry about, but you have a medical thing that requires attention. No one will ask anymore. If they do, just say, I’m not comfortable going into detail. And then when you’re ready to announce, they’ll put it together. I was thinking the opposite too—tell your boss/HR at the minimum for job security. Isn’t it frowned upon to fire/ lay-off someone that’s pregnant?
I told my boss early but didn't tell anyone else until I was about 5 months. I only started telling people when I couldn't hide the bump any longer.
