Deductible and copays are stupid high, even on the premium plan, everything almost doubled this year. Plus you have to go to CVS for your prescriptions and only CVS or they aren’t really covered. The only good thing about it is it’s not hard to find a doctor in network.
What P1 said. I have the premium plan, which is pricey to begin with, and started out the year with my doc ordering some tests. My deductible is $700 but my out of pocket max is much higher. So far this year I've paid well over $3k out of pocket and just got a call for another $400. If I ever reach the end of my OOP max, I am going to get every little tiny thing that bothers me looked at. Twice.
BCBS
But for example, I recently had to get a quick walk-in x-ray of my hand, not an ER thing, a doctor referral. It cost me a little short of $400. I’ve had MRIs that were cheaper.
I’m freelance and only have major medical. I just paid $1500 self pay for an endoscopy. I only do self-pay now, unless I endup with a critical illness, I’m SOL. Trust me, your options could be much worse and more expensive.
I’ve appreciated BCBS. Could the coverage vary by location/state? I have pretty good coverage.
^this. And it blows.
@Sap. Explain please.
Bcbs is a bully insurance provider. Not the best.
