Why are people so afraid of diversity? Also why do you assume that 70% of white men is automatically qualified? Lol
Not afraid of diversity. Afraid of quota system that doesn’t take into account the applicant pool. Was just giving an example where 70% of the applicants are white male and assuming that people are equally qualified (for the sake of example) regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, etc. In that example, if you only cap the numbers of white makes to say 25% (for the sake of example) then that is not equal opportunity
Go away with your affirmative action fear mongering. We do a horrible job with these videos and they are the butts of many jokes. But ultimately the message is to look beyond your bias. When you have a bias, you are not acutely aware of it. A push in the direction of thinking outside of your norms might be fine.
That is BS OP - I attended the same session a few months back. Is that the message because it tried to get you to recognize unconscious bias?
Not sure how you came to that conclusion - but you do you.
I attended a similar event and that is not what I took away from it at all
For example, if 70% of the applicants are white male, the other 30% will have an advantage based on diversity metrics and not qualification
OP - in your scenario, all else equal, all prior systemic bias should be ignored ?
