They didn't settle for that amount. Anyone who knows anything about anything knows this was shakedown and that they probably settled for significantly less.
Whatever was settled can more than be afforded
No way they settled for $5.5b. That number was a lawyer ploy for publicity on taylor beans side.
Yeah, the case had no legal foundation. They settled only because it dragging on would be bad publicity. So there's no way anything that crazy is getting paid out.
Malpractice insurance would likely foot all or most of the settlement amount.
It was a settlement that benefited the firm going forward, otherwise they would have went all the way through trial. PwC isn't going anywhere
