I had a BA at Deloitte who left for a ops or logistics manager role at uber - can't remember exactly the title but it def had manager in it
Come on... Do what you're passionate about and where you think you'll have a bigger impact :/
@PWC1 thanks for the response. Uber just reached out to me for an Ops Mgr position, but it seems like a lot of on-boarding new drivers and very little actual strategy. Not sure if on an impact level I would be having nearly as much as I am having now... Anyone else have objective comments?
@McK that is the standard local role, and you hit the nail on the head. I got an offer and passed on it, glorified dispatcher.
Ummmm... I have spoken with both the CeO and COO of Uber. Ask some questions...the COO is basically in charge of on boarding as well (on a surface level). It's a start up...you aren't going to get a C-level title...they all went to college together. You have to get your hands dirty...title is not the start-up mentality...they mean nothing
It's Uber! They aren't even public! If you are in your 20s take the job....you will be doing "strategy" even if you don't think you will. They start entire counties in groups of 3 (all local). Supervision is the COO...and maybe when he is overwhelmed..you! Run the return...secretaries of Microsoft made millions
@Assc1 (not sure where you work @) the reason I asked this question is bc someone might help me get a sense of where I will have more impact given they have more experience than I do with roles at one of these 🦄
Both McK are right. Uber is hyper execution focused right nowZ strategy piece is done bro. All about execution now.
