Question on credit cards. I’m 23 and have a solid credit score (790) because I was an authorized user on a parent’s card; however, I do not have “credit history” and was therefore denied when applying for the chase sapphire preferred card. Suggestions on what card I may be eligible for / how long it will take to be able to qualify for chase sapphire preferred?

Check out nerd wallet or credit karma. They recommend credit cards you’ll be approved for based on your stats. Open a few with 0 annual fee to build the portfolio too.

The Chase Freedom Unlimited is a great no annual fee card, but I think Chase usually likes to see some credit history before issuing any of their cards. My first credit card was through Discover, I think. I agree with checking out Nerd Wallet. AskSeby on YouTube is also great for credit card recs.

Yeah agree with above do some research but I know that discover is pretty lax about giving newbie cards

Also 23 and was in the same boat last year. Actually got my Sapphire Preferred this week! In my case, had to open a secured Discover card and build credit history for a year. Was approved with no issues for the Sapphire after that :)

Congrats! I hope to be in your shoes soon…

I don’t think I have enough YOE to go for a program architect role at SF otherwise I’d be interested.

My fiancé and I (ages 30 and 31) are about to buy a house. We would put down 10% for a 835k purchase price. Our combined income is $265k. We both have around 7-10k left in emergency funds (each) and combined about 200k for retirement. Our mortgage is $4,500 a month and we split a car payment for $800. Is this an okay financial decision or should we have bought a cheaper house/saved more?

I'm a US citizen living abroad I applied almost 11 months ago for my spouse. Married for years, kid. I wait and wait. It seems this will take 2 years, maybe more. I feel trapped. On one side the US system demands I work and domicile in US, the other side says families should be prioritized to stay together. My spouse has had enough of the process. I feel trapped abroad and locked in a dysfunctional system. We're just in limbo, it's depressing
