Hi Fishes, Currently I am working in Kolkata for past 3 years. I am not a fan of the humid weather in Kolkata. Whenever I go out, its sweaty.. I have an opportunity to shift my workplace to Hyderabad. I want to know about Hyderabad weather month wise..

If you want to try to live by yourself, I'd say you'll need at least $60,000 each year. That works out at around $30 per hour, and you'll spend one paycheck on rent and the other on necessities.

Yea, if you live in National City or deep in El Cajon. And in a 1-bed/studio. But if you want North Park or a beach city, nope.
If you have roommates, you’ll be fine (even in north park or pacific beach). If you want your own place, you’ll struggle
No, you will have to have a roommate. 2 bedroom apartments average around $3k a month just rent (not utilities or anything else) . With a 75k salary, your take home will be about $5k a month. Depending on your situation, your monthly take home might not even cover all your bills (car, phone, insurance, utilities, cable, etc)

I think take home is closer to 4200 on 75k. Even at 100k my take home was only 5200.
75k could do a studio though or roommates, I did it with two roommates in pacific beach and didn’t have a problem
Studios are like 2k/month. Still pretty steep.
Why would you need 2 bedrooms by yourself in a HCOL city

I think he’s saying get a 2 bedroom with one other roommate. But maybe I’m just assuming.
Yep - I make 170K and I still have 2 roommates (my partner, and a friend of ours in another bedroom). We don’t need to have a roommate because we can easily afford our rent, but it’s nice to have extra money, and someone to come home to all the time!
Depends how many roommates you are willing to have.
No.

I think it also depends what other bills you have? Do you have paid off car or have a car payment? Do you spend a lot on gym memberships, food, going out? It’s definitely doable, but my definition of comfortable is that you don’t have to pay too much attention to these things or feel guilty for doing them. When I was making 75k my rent was high and I felt broke. I now make 100K+ and still have a serving job on the side b/c it’s not enough to feel like I can save a ton and go out and take little vacations and what not.
For context, I started at 70k a few years ago and I struggled a ton even with a “roommate”. She was my wife and making 100k. Completely commingled finances and it was definitely struggle. Now we are at under 300k total and doing ok. Not well, just ok.
Rent runs anywhere from 2500.00 and up. I am about a half hour north of SD in a beach community and two bedrooms start at 3000.00 and go up.
Hope that helps.
Like others mentioned, no.
Your best bet is having a SO to share rent on a 1bd with. 2bd prices anywhere desirable are stupid (~2.8k +) and anywhere not desirable isn’t very walkable
So, pre Covid I was making 70K, got a one bedroom for ~2K a month and budget was pretty tight but not ramen bad. You the rate that 2brds are going now it’s not likely you’ll get something that’s a decent size/quality/location under 3000
If you walk everywhere, that's certainly a good way to save. One of things I love most about SD is all of the beaches and outdoor activities
To be honest. I don't think so. $75k is more like $40k in San Diego. You will only be able to live comfortably if you get a roommate. Other than that you will be living modestly

Might be a bit tough. It’s steep out here.
No, definitely not by yourself. Check out rents in the area(s) you want to live/work. Do the math. You'll see that it just won't work no matter how you swing it. Unless by "2-bed apartment" you mean a van down by the river, LOL! It's rough out here, man!!
I’m at 71k and I have 1 roommate and we both pay $1300. I’m WFH so our sdge is a bit high at ~$120 per person monthly. We were particular about amenities and the area so rent was expectedly on the higher end but not too bad in the grand scheme of rent prices. I personally don’t have a lot of other expenses so I am able to live pretty comfortably by my standards.
There’s NO way I could afford a place on my own and live the way I do. I live within my means but I like going out to drink/eat/do stuff every now and then. I also buy flights regularly to visit my family and I don’t have any loans or debt to pay off besides a super minimal monthly car payment and I’m still able to save each month. It’s def doable but finding a place that’s spacious, in a central location, and somewhat modern can be tough. It took me 3 months to find my place around USD area
