The reality of ageism hurts. Trying to stay relevant and likeable as a 33 yo female is something I’m having to work harder on than my actual job. I take virtual classes and do competitions to stay “current,” but I’m old enough to be the parents of some of my partners. I even attended an online seminar and asked the hiring manager at my dream agency if they’d ever consider hiring a mid-level 30-something, and she said that juniors bring the “freshness” and are more impressionable and adaptable.
