Registered patent attorney who recently ramped back on after family. Hired by a large firm as a patent agent to learn the ropes with a lower billable hour load w/ understanding I’d move to associate role. My feedback has been excellent except that my hours are always low. I’m asking everyone for work. In writing. I’m basically begging for work. How can I make hours if there isn’t work?

Hey guys I have offer from cisco system and checkpoint cyber security . Checkpoint is offering x+5 in base where as cisco is offering similar amount in joining bonus. Overall per year ctc is also differs by 3 lac (y+3) in checkpoint .

General corporate in NY looking to lateral into tech transactions at one of the EC/VC firms. I’ve heard that I may get a class cut if I make the move but I’m ok with that. My worry is that EC/VC firms are crazy busy work differently from general corp, I also won’t have control over my hours, and potentially worse based on how billing differs (block billing on a few clients vs having to work with 15 or more startups). Is the same true for tech trans or IP group?
