Chief
Never in my life have I felt overpaid. I'm worth every penny and many more
Pro
This.
No
Will be surprised if anyone at our beloved institution will say yes 😂
If so, are you hiring?
Only when I’m experiencing imposter syndrome. That said, I’m not very high level yet. I could see down the line experiencing such a feeling.
I only had one full-time role where I felt like I was overpaid. It was advertised as an accounting role but was a clerical role. I was bored to death but worked in this role for a couple of years. Nothing worse than working in a role where you are not learning or being challenged.
Not when I think about all the $$$ I make for my company
If you feel overpaid...your not doing something you should be.
Only when I was an intern
Only underpaid - so much so I’m looking into a side hustle to survive nyc
I have always felt like I delivered on every dollar and more that I was paid. I did have a job that I absolutely loved and that made it seem like maybe I was getting more than I should - not in money but in happiness and quality of life. Currently I am paid far less than I am worth and that is hard to swallow, especially given my workload.
Have you tried a side hustle to supplement?
Are you accepting cv's?
Yes…it’s weird at other jobs I felt underpaid, then at this one overpaid. But if I really think about, at previous jobs I was underpaid, but got used to that feeling…of always making less than I deserved. I think I have imposter syndrome, but I also know I must be strong enough to stop thinking so negatively about myself. There’s a good possibility that you feel the exact same way that I do, but we are not deserving of less. I hope that makes sense.
Under current economic conditions, nope. I am underpaid.
Regularly. A lot of financial services output is rent-seeking garbage. We benefit from information asymmetry and sure, I am “underpaid” relative to some industry peers. I’m overpaid if you measure us based on our actual effect on the world.
No. I am a rainmaker MD, minority (African-American and Moroccan male), and ivy-league educated individual with three degrees from Harvard University so I never believe I am being overpaid. Also I come from a very wealthy background so the more money the better.
Yes, current position
No. Nice try corporate overlords we won’t be happy with less money
Not at all!
Never! That is the definition of effective salary/compensation/task negotiation…you feel overcompensated because the task comes easy to you and you’re paid justly.
No, never felt over paid. Certainly have been underpaid at most places compared to others and the marketplace. Definitely overworked and underpaid as well.
