Should I pursue UX-UI in 2024?
I got my bachelor's in Graphic Design, a Diploma in Interior Design, and I'm so in love with UX-UI. Plus I can't get a good job in Interior design industry as the market is not good right now for beginners.

I don't know how is the market right now for UX-UI and ( considering the horrible job market, the future of the UX-UI specially with the impact of AI etc.) I can't decide. I need your opinion on this. should I do it? if yes, Is it okay to go for a diploma?

Is Account executive the goal once you become a BDR? What are the other paths that other people have taken?

Question : I want to change career from a support engineer to sales. Is that possible ? I have 4 YoE in technical support and want to change to sales.
Any ideas where to start, and what positions I should be looking for given I have not worked sales before ?

Looking for some advice on a couple of offers I have.

The first offer is for an Account Executive position at a smaller company with a base of $50k and another $20k in OTE.

The second offer is for a BDR position at a larger and faster growing company with a base of $60k and another $20k in OTE. Also some stock options but they aren’t public yet.

I have 2 YOE as a BDR and think I could succeed in either position. Both have hybrid work set ups. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

This is pretty niche, but I have an emergency management background and am interested in transitioning to UX. However, I would love to find a way to combine my experience in disasters with UX research. Does anyone know of any tech companies that have an emergency management focus that would need a researcher for their products?

I joined a project that had already started and the team already settled on creating a user journey map, even though none of them are designers or in ux. I also have no experience in this field as I'm a data engineer. The user journey map was for mapping out the process for tenants finding housing assistance, so not a technical product. Question: market research - do you hire for in house talent our outsource?

How do you approach usability testing for new onboarding sequences? I work with a variety of SaaS businesses and recently requests have come in to test onboarding prototypes.

New users are the first to touch onboarding so how do I recruit the appropriate participants to test? Recruiting new users doesn’t seem feasible, I would think we should run A/B tests and cross-check analytics to measure success? Any insight is appreciated!

For other Senior Managers, Directors and above, how do you stay on top managing your team, and also your understanding of your users? I rely on my team through the projects they work on, and the insights they arrive at through the research/design process. I rely on listening to sales calls now and then. I'm curious what other tactics you have to stay informed?

I think I may have finally had it.

A couple of decades in this field and now I want to just walk away. The grind in tech is soul-destroying, and the vast majority of the time, coworkers outside of UX have no idea what it is, what it’s for, and how it’s applied. I’m at my wits end and the constant problem is a kind of “willful misunderstanding” of our process and value.

After wasting too many years on design immature companies, It’s senselessly depressing. I’ve given away too much of myself.

Hey bowl 😄 looking for the Best Innovation/UX field certification programs !? I’m a vet and have approx 1.5yrs worth of GI Bill education benefits. Don’t necessarily want to do another degree as I think there are some really good certs to give me what I need to succeed.

Interested in UX but have no experience or much knowledge about it. What kind of roles were you in before you got into UX, how did you get there, did you have to get a certification, and what does your day to day work consist of? Is it more technical, psychological or design based?

My product owner doesn’t understand the value of standard practices like information architecture, use personas, and just want to get to wireframes as soon as possible. Even after a few of us demonstrating that value and the founder chiming in to agree with us. How have you all combatted this before?
