Cognizant Recently cognizant have changed their internet wfh allowance policy.we use to get 1800 per month as internet allowance without submitting any bills or transaction details. Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. I am ok with everything but why i need to apply for credit card? How a company can force me to have a credit card? It will directly/indirectly alter the credit score right? Cogniza

Slalom, easy. “Why slalom?”
I’ll give you one example. You see how everyone in this thread is talking about Slalom being on a hiring freeze? That’s because Slalom tries its very hardest to not lay people off (performance notwithstanding); it’s like an “in case of emergency, break glass”-type thing. We didn’t lay anyone off in ‘08 or during the pandemic. Leadership really does care about their employees.
As for pay, personally I got a massive salary increase coming from a boutique. I guess the pay part is really dependent on how much you ask vs your skillset (slalom is a very tech-focused and tech implementation-heavy company…think AWS, google cloud, tableau etc)
You're thinking of entering consulting, noting you want none of the consulting experience? Good luck.
I am already in consulting, 20+ years. Looking to make a switch.
Slalom is soooooo nice. The best consulting firm I’ve worked at, ever. I’ve worked at Big 4 and ACN. Hands down LOVE Slalom in every way
D1, dm for details!
S1, not quite sure. They are still hiring in my market for some specific roles they’re looking to fill. However, for the most part it’s a hiring freeze. The speculation is after Q1 they might start. I can put you in touch with a recruitment manager if you would like to connect(for the Toronto market)
SC1, the only firm that I’ve seen care so much about practitioners. Never heard of a firm firm clients other than slalom. And yes the wlb is really good. Everyone is really nice

Us for sure, once we are hiring.

I’m just an SC, so not exactly in the know. Just know we aren’t recruiting right now, but anticipate that starting back up in Q1. I’d bet it takes until at least Feb/March tbh. Gotta clear folks off the bench.
Slalom is slower ability to grow and earn but has better WLB. You get to choose which you want.
Slalom for good WLB but they don’t pay good.
Little more than 150k tc
Slalom, but there’s a hiring freeze.
I think it’s all locations. They may make an exception for technical people. It’s worth trying, but I know multiple people going through the process for ~3 months and no offers > hiring freeze.
Some of your desires contradict others
My dream company is Slalom 🥺
Slalom is good with keeping up with folks they interview or like. Keep in touch with your recruiter (if they aren’t already) and I’m sure when the time is right they will be happy to have you on board
Def not big 4 if you are looking for WLB

Happy to provide a referral!
What is slalom pay at director level?
Just join a tech company. No travel at a consulting firm? Seems extremely project dependent. If the client wants you in the office, are you going to tell the Partner that you can’t go? Good luck with that.
Google, Microsoft, AWS.
If you are looking at b4 def not EY. They have been stingy af.
Would recommend Deloitte’s USDC - tech consulting work with no travel & you can go up for promotion whenever you like.
USDC is good depending on what you are looking for. USDC has little bit lower pay, depending on your experience you’d most likely come in low 100s, and only basic benefits. The WLB is amazing though with little to no travel or in office requirements, which is why the pay and benefits are less.
You’ll see real growth in Big 4, slalom has created multiple levels so that they can constantly keep half of the workforce working on some promotion process and get a fake sense of growth but in in reality it’s just rebranding of the SC and Manager roles into multiples.
Talk for yourself , at Deloitte a specialist master (level M) has a 5 M target 3 sales + 2 managed revenue.

Slalom if you want low pay and SI work
What’s SI work?
Looking at Slalom as well, thinking Practice Area Director or Managing Director.
Not really sure. Pretty wide range from what I’ve seen online with a majority of compensation being bonus and shares.

Depends on your level. If you’re coming in as an MD B4 and just do the bare minimum.
