I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. So you like the salary that’s great and congratulations, what else can you negotiate? What about PTO? What about bonuses?
I like the idea of negotiating something other than salary since, like you said, the salary is about as good as you could get. I'd get them to budge on PTO or remote days or something like that.
You were offered the max listed pay, it’s above what you were asking, AND you’re happy with the salary… don’t let FOMO stop the bag; accept the job.
You did not clarify the size of firm or company you received an offer for. That would affect whether any negotiation is worthwhile. I personally would not unless I thought I was still not at or above market.
I agree that I would try to negotiate something. It doesn't necessarily have to be salary. You could ask for more PTO.
So long as the offered salary is aligned with the market, I personally would gratefully accept the offer. That said, being at the high end of their posted range does not automatically guarantee that it's a good offer, do your research.
