I put out a cattle call once. 90% of respondents didn’t meet the job description. So I get why recruiters etc don’t respond especially if it’s an exciting role or agency that would get a lot of interest. But I still took the time to reply to every single one.

Asking people to drop their book in the comments is just counterproductive for applicants. If I see a cattle call and I drop my book on the comments, now that post appears on all my contacts’ feeds with “so and so commented” and then all my competitors now have access to that post and will also post their books. I’m shooting myself in the foot, inviting competitors to send their books, just by doing it myself.
@acd2 same. Though I admire the confidence of those who drop their link for all to see.
Business apps like LinkedIn, I’m starting to believe, work against professional creatives, who are bundled up with students and unqualified, inexperienced job seekers that clog the system and make it almost impossible for genuine qualified applicants to get noticed.
