So we have a 2 week old in the house and thought we had a great plan for showing our 5 year the love to help manage the jealousy factor. Turns out our best thought out plans have been rendered to low grade dog food. We’ve done his favorite/special stuff outside the house, ensured dedicated time while home with the 5 year old and have still been met with individual scorn. I’m so scared to let a relationship that gives me anxiety go because I’m 36 F and feel like I’m not going to find anyone else. He’s not a horrible person, but he can be inconsistent. When I bring it up to him he says he’ll try harder but then always goes back to default. My dad who lives in Asia just announced that he had a medical issue. I’m starting to enter the age where I’m going to take care of him financially. It’s a $2,000 hospital bill which in the US is nothing compared to what it represents there (which he can’t afford). He’s going to be fine! Just wanted to share with this group as many of you can understand what it feels like to support your parents when they’re old, not the other way around. I feel so blessed I can help him. 🙏🏽
