I'm just not seeing the 30% increase in salary on job listings. Where are you finding these jobs? Any recommendations?
Agree, the most I’ve seen was 10-15% including annual bonus.
You just have to negotiate
I think recruiters get a flat fee for placing you and not necessarily a percentage of your salary. So they don’t really have any motivation to get you higher than 10-15%. I would just find something on your own
Non b4, I left as senior. My raise was 8%
I left as first year senior at a big 4. Got a 30% raise
I left before this current busy season. I waited until I got my promotion and bonus. I would definitely wait until you reach senior at least IMO. Especially after the raise because then the jump will be higher
I talked to one recruiter that mentioned he would be getting paid 25k for filling a role. In my mind that is basically added into your cost as a job candidate, only you don't get to keep any of it.
I also heard recruiters keep 20% of your first year salary.
If that’s true and it’s percentage based then I don’t know why they don’t negotiate for a higher salary on your behalf. The recruiters I had were more interested in just placing me somewhere than getting me the best salary that I could get.
Left as a first year senior, ~35%increase
