Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

I’d say you are right to feel imposter syndrome. You have very little experience and more seasoned creatives will smell this on you. So, don’t go around pretending you know more than you actually do, this will work against you. Do however, be curious, enthusiastic, and listen more than others. In the not too distant future, you’ll wake up and realize that you know what you’re doing.
Simple truth. Salary, experience and skill are only partly linked. Plenty of people stay at one agency for 6 years and end up way underpaid.
Be hungry. Soak up ideas, learn and live the correct processes for your agency, throw yourself at pitches and coach new juniors to the best of your ability. I promise you you'll get twice as good at your job long before you double your salary.
Do you. Ride the wave. My only words of caution would be to not let people’s need to fill seats promote you too soon. Because, ultimately, they’re not worried about you learning what you need to learn at each level to progress to the next. They’re just trying to make sure they have warm bodies to fill the roles.
I’ve also found that smaller, non-traditional agencies promote a bit faster and with less requirements. For example, I became a senior writer in under three years. But, when I switched to a more traditional agency, they brought me on as a mid-level CW.
What I learned from that experience is that I had the talent, passion, and leadership capabilities. But, being promoted so quickly didn’t give me the chance to learn the craft needed for different media.
So, since then, I’ve put the brakes on my own title jumps more than once. I got my money. But, I didn’t let people put me in a position where I wouldn’t be able to learn and develop the skills I needed.
So, like I said, keep doing you. But, make sure while you are you’re being honest about your growth areas. This will only help you in the end and increase the longevity of your career.
You got this!
It seems like you’re already doing amazing!!
Be yourself. The new agency obviously saw something in you that they're excited about, so go in with confidence. Congrats - you've got this!!!
I have been feeling this myself lately. Even years into my career it still happens. Just know they wouldn't have hired you if they didn't think you were capable. You hae got this.
