Easily Stripe. Not even close.
Pro
Well I would take stripe, great company in tech. Opens up a lot of doors in other tech cos based on name even if you don’t do anything remotely related to product.
Do you want to work with boomers and gen x or do you want to work for a younger company.
As much as Marriott is moving more into tech, it’s not a “tech” company like Stripe. If your future path is in tech, Stripe is a solid company to be at.
Are all those numbers initial offers? Have you countered with Stripe yet? Does it have bonus? $165k sounds doable.
Stripe has prestige? Always felt it was kinda cringey
Associate 1 that is absolutely not true. Stripe is still easier to get into than faang. Considerably so.
They fucked themselves with the rsu changes
Fannie you can make a career out of. Stripe is a lunching pad and Marriott best money and free hotel stays
Marriott
Even with the prestige and potential upside from stripe? I have friends telling me it’s better than having FAANG on resume.
Are the roles similar?
Stripe TC looks great if you’re interested in payments. Really comes down to the role IMO.
Rising Star
I would take stripe but really depends on your goals. Marriott has uncertainty and like others are saying, stripe can be leveraged into other tech. Plus any equity/RSUs will be a lot more valuable than any Marriott stock. And Fannie Mae is the worst.
Generally speaking, folks on this app will direct you away from making decisions based on prestige and brand collection and i think they’re probably right. But you should take stripe for the fact that it’s growing and positions you better for the future.
6 YOE + MS, tier 2 city, all roles fully remote, human capital consulting background. Currently at 136 base (including recent mid year raise)
Stripe: 140 base, unknown RSU (was told ~40k target per year) still TBD
Fannie Mae: 150 base, small bonus
Marriott: 165 base, target of 15% bonus
Honestly incredibly conflicted, the difference in cash comp from Marriott to stripe make it hard to make a definitive decision
I also imagine WLB at Fannie/Marriott will lead over stripe, which is a very high priority for me.
Best time to join a company is when they are recovering. I’ve done a lot of work in hospitality and really like that industry. What’s the role at Stripe?
Please go for Stripe, other two are dinosaurs with much less growth prospects
How much are stripe RSU valuatrd?
What type of roles are you exiting too from HCM consulting ?
Makes sense thanks and congratulations OP! Good luck with the decision 👍🏼
