Wall to wall carpeting or classroom area rugs?
Complete wall to wall carpeting! It better look nice... 😆
I have had to change schools, change rooms, and downsize to just a file cabinet. I have had to take a lot of supplies home over the years. It is amazing how much we teachers accumulate over the years. I feel for you.
Ok, since you have so much experience buying stuff to teach with, changing schools, changing grade levels or subjects maybe? I have a gigantic dilemma to solve. Maybe you have suggestions?
I began teaching in 1990 with literally no basic supplies, teaching materials, anything. It was a sixth grade center and I taught Math and Social Studies. We had teacher's editions and chalk boards, student desks, that's pretty much it, no chalk even. Back then they gave us $50, that's it. We'd go to teacher supply stores where resource books were $25 dollars and bulletin board sets, without borders, were about the same.
Since then, it's been 34 years, I've taught every grade pre-k thru 12, and have a garage filled with expensive books and supplies. Am newly empty nested, but have grandchildren planned. Am moving to another state. Since it's me alone, am downsizing to a 2BR apartment. Tired of maintaining a home 20 years now.
I won't just throw away or donate good stuff and don't have time to sell it before moving. I plan to teach when I get there. Am applying, so don't yet know where or what position. Probably ESE, like this year, but could be any grade level or Media Specialist. Have 5 certification areas. Sorry, bit of an overachiever.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
I am moving classrooms to one that is 1/2 the size of my current room. I am doing some serious purging!
