Taking my CFP exam in November and am getting nervous. I still have 5 weeks to continue to study but it is so tough to juggle running the practice, having a family, and finding time to study! Any advice from people who have been here?

You can not study too much. But put in the time and you will do fineb

Once you get in the home stretch, which you’re in, it will take a lot of sacrifice from more than just you. Talk to your significant other and your employees, and help them understand that you have to temporarily put the rest of your life on hold. That might mean that they are taking on more responsibilities and feeling more stressed than usual (as I’m sure you are). I agree with the person above, you cannot study too much. You don’t have to be a genius to pass, but you do need to put the time in. The short-term sacrifices will be worth having the designation for the rest of your career

I’m an FA within the bank channel and have made the mistake of leaving my first firm to go to another. bank program that ended up failing and sold our books to another firm. It’s become harder and harder to grow a book now within the bank channel because of Reg BI and it’s going to take me a decade to grow my book to where I want to be. I’m a CFP and finishing up my MBA. I’m thinking of going to another area of Finance all together like PE. Any suggestions for me? NOT looking to go Independent.

I keep getting surprised each month by our firm financial reports indicating we are relatively on track with our pre-Covid budget, while also watching our overall billable hour numbers for the year continue to go down. So, it is really 2021, when our 2020 backlog AR won’t be rolling in, that I should really be planning to hunker down for?? Seems a bit like the disconnected stock market to economy.
