Hey guys! So I have a Top Secret Clearance and recently joined Amazon in a position that doesn’t require it. Would Amazon offer to host my clearance considering that they are looking for multiple people with this type of clearance? I’m open to cleared work but was hired for a commercial Strategy and just not sure if I should bring it up? Thought?

coming from a bit 4, you have great exit opportunities leaving at any level. It's a common misconception that you have to be miserable and stick it out for years on end until a certain level. you can find a fulfilling job with a great salary right now, especially in this market.
Not gonna talk you out of leaving because you don’t deserve to be unhappy. It’s a great market right now, so leave if that is what you feel is best for you.
I think the best exit ops are at senior. But I’ve met people that did fine working up in industry
BDO - this lie (about there being no difference between leaving as an associate or senior or manager) gets spread on here a lot. On average, people land more fulfilling and better paid jobs earlier in their career if they can stick it out until manager at Big4 (which has a huge impact on lifetime earnings). That doesn’t mean you can’t be successful going prematurely to industry but stop parroting the lie that there is no difference in those tracks (on average). Careers are long so it’s not fair to tell young impressionable people half truths that could impact years and years of their working roles and pay
I’m not making a decision for the OP or anyone else and I really don’t care whether they stay or go. Just don’t want the OP (or anyone else) to think there’s not significant benefits to having big 4 experience and there’s no difference in leaving as an associate vs say a senior or a manager just because people keep repeating this on FB

I dislike the billable hours model since the prices are pretty much set, if you don’t believe it, then how do they know how much to write off? And when you bill too little they say, “make sure to bill all your time and partners will decide how much to write off”
Get what you’re worth and do what you enjoy. Step into corporate small, mid, or large size. Spend some time and compare to public accounting. I boomeranged back I’m mentally tougher than I was and accept public is a tough role, but I enjoy the seasonal aspects and knowing I have Thanksgiving and Christmas break with family each year which industry couldn’t always accommodate.
What’s your end goal? If it’s not a tax role then get out and pivot to a job that positions you better for it. Otherwise, would recommend hanging on until senior.
Do it
Jump, see where you land
I left tax as an experienced associate and am doing fine. I will say my mental health in B4 tax was absolutely awful though, which was greatly impacted by the team. I switched to industry, at a company w a culture that actually gets embodied by the employees (or at least by my coworkers) and is so much better. If you like your team that's huge so maybe you can stick it out through the hours for that?
My first industry job was hot garbage but then i switched to FP&A in tech and am so much happier

What’s the benefit of staying? Will it somehow get better?
