Good or Bad?
My referral had interviews w/ (1)
recruiter, (1) SM, then the series of
(3) 1:1's w/(1) MD and (2) SM's.
The recruiter said he will now have
an interview in Jan. w/ the PPMD.
He interviewed for a M role in
consulting for customer marketing.

He does have a wide skill set and the
recruiter said it was all positive
feedback, just have to find out
where to put him (on the team he
interviewed for or another he is

Always interview. Nothing is ever guaranteed. Things can change in an instant and there is nothing you can do about it. As a manager, I encourage team members to always have their books updated and always know what else is out there. I also make sure they always know they are valued.
Good advice!
You should check your worth against the market every 18-24 months. Doesn’t mean you have to get to the offer stage, but you owe it to yourself. If you interviewing gets back to your boss, a good boss will do something nice to keep you. If you face repercussions, that’s just evidence that you NEED to be interviewing.
I’m always interviewing, but it helps to be discreet and make sure it does not affect your work output or deadlines.
An employer can legally fire you if they find out you applied elsewhere. A quick Google search says it would be a not-for-cause firing so you could be eligible for unemployment. (Did not do extensive research, I would advise researching further to confirm).
It is a crazy job market, no job can promise long term security and you should prepare for the possibility that you might be let go tomorrow.
Yeah you should always be interviewing imo, just be smart about it. Especially early in my career, moving around is how I got raises/promotions. I always feel like you should be focused on your career and taking positive steps toward the things you want.
It’s good to always see what’s out there but if you are in the process and realize it’s not a fit, gracefully bow out. There are so many people unemployed right now so moving forward in the process for a job you don’t want, could take away further consideration from an unemployed candidate. But if you are stoked on the role and love the team and are seriously considering the role you are interviewing, keep on going.
