Honestly, if it's only a month, I don't think I would notice.
Only include years of employment , not months.
Totally. I don’t see why—particularly at a director level— why months come into play
restructured and your new role was left-right-out. honesty is a good policy. been fired/let go 4 times now. yet there are people who would hire me in a heartbeat. so it depends who your boss was. 50% of people fired sucked at their jobs, but a % were also awesome at their jobs. so the concept of fired = bad left the workplace a very long time ago. only idiots hold onto that mantra now.
Tell the truth. Netflix maybe?
No one puts months on their resume unless they are super junior. Knock it off
I have a year-long gap in my resume because I left a job I didn’t love anymore without anything else lined up. I was honest while interviewing and told them I took a few months to travel and really figure out what I wanted out of my next job. 100% of interviewers loved it. I realize your situation is different but my point is that honesty is the best approach, whether it’s a conventional or unconventional situation
Did you freelance? Did you create a business name to work under?
Be honest. Happens all time especially recently!
Fully agree with the truth. If you’re passionate about what you do, you’ll shine when you get the interview either way. It should reflect in a reach out email.
Anybody else read this [phonetically] as “Re-soom gaps?"
A month after a lay off shouldn’t be an issue for you. It may on the other hand mean the screener or the interviewer doesn’t know this business.
Did you do anything amazing over that month? (I know, hard to do with the uncertainty, but...) If I saw someone that took the time and turned it into travel or taking a course, I'd want that person around.
A month? Literally no one will notice or care. If it somehow comes up say you were taking some time off. Totally normal.
1 month is literally nothing. You don’t need to address it. If it was a year +, maybe
A month is nothing, I doubt they’ll even notice. Don’t bring it up unless they do, but be honest that your agency lost a client etc.
Just say “after I left my last job I took a month to catch up on life and get some things done before jumping back into the advertising madness”
It was the meth
