It is so expensive to live here, I am struggling to make things work. Is this a normal salary for someone of my experience or should I ask for a raise? 8th year associate. Has anyone “made counsel” in the past year and missed out on associate bonuses as a result? I may be promoted this year but I’m honestly afraid I will miss out on market matching bonuses. Counsel comp at my v50 is not bad. But for associates, the firm will match any Cravath/NY bonus, and I’m afraid the individualized nature of counsel comp will result in taking a hit.

I was informed today that my employment would be terminated at a tier-2 consulting firm in Toronto. The reasons for my dismissal are unclear and I would like to get legal advice on the termination agreement and severance package that was offered.
