Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

Unless someone leaves on bad terms, A company loves the boomerang story because it affirms their culture for everybody else. They will also use this example when speaking to new recruits. They would want you back as much as you’d want to go back.
It's not too soon. If you left on good terms, reach out. I bet they will be happy.
Also anecdotally, I left PwC and then went back 14 years later. That might be a record. :)
Quickest I’ve seen was a boomerang in 4 months! Most often I’ve seen them at a couple years or even longer. IMO as soon as you know the move isn’t panning out like you hoped, nothing wrong in going back presuming you left on really good terms. I think it also matters if you left for a competitor (little tougher for people to overlook) or to do something entirely unrelated (welcome back no problem).
Why did you leave then?
Who would miss an opportunity to work at KPMG!
Nah do it! Do whatever makes you happy no one cares that much about timing anyways if you have a strong story why if ever asked
