Thinking of freelancing, but wary of losing benefits - mostly health insurance. How much can I expect the cost of health insurance (for family) to jump if I go freelance? Is Cobra the way to go while I can get it?

Cobra will double your monthly payment plus a fee from the Cobra administrator. If your family is healthy on not on meds, you might be able to find something relatively inexpensive with Obama care plans.

This probably depends a little on where you are. I’m in NY and the marketplace is all lousy high deductible plans with very limited provider networks, even the most expensive ones were worse than my lousy WPP high deductible insurance and my cobra was maybe $100/month more than the absolute worst exchange plans). I recently lost cobra and am paying 30% more now for a much better plan. I had to join a union and these plans (unlike exchange plans or cobra) are allowed to ask medical questions and refuse coverage. In the plans I looked at, families were in the $2000-3000/month range

Is anyone willing to share the cost of Austin Belcak's Dream Job System Course?

What is this? It's a course on finding a job. He guarantees a 30 days 100% refund too.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but here's why I think the course is worthwhile. I have been following Austin's Belcak's website Cultivated Culture for a while. Most of his job search strategies are legit, I found tons of value in implementing them.

Hi everybody,

Looking for some insight/curious to hear how others would handle this situation:

I have an offer I want to accept; I was trying to negotiate for a signing bonus… but they’re not budging.

The issue is, the start date is in a month and I’m up for a promotion in a week at my current company. I would like to leave before I get promoted, I think it would be pretty low of me to accept and promptly quit.

Not the new employer’s problem? Or can/should I try to leverage this?

Having an early-life crisis. Would moving from an A1 in Deal Advisory to a government accounting role be career suicide? The pay in deals is great, but I just genuinely don’t enjoy the work, specifically how it’s mostly based around research. I don’t like the constant fire drills/type a people either. I just want something a bit more relaxed, but without sacrificing too much pay. I know that’s a lot to ask for but just wanted to get some opinions.

In one company I worked for 9 months and in CV I rounded it off to 1 year. The bgv team has come up with this discrepancy and I have stated them that I rounded off that in CV and my exact employment is for 9 months with experience letter attached.will this be a problem?
