Definitely send out a press release to current clients, past customers, warm market, and sphere of influence.

Becomes part of who you are. Not sure I ever went out and purposely marketed it but it certainly comes up regularly in conversations. It won’t double your business, your hard work will.

I have had a few prospects ask if I am a fiduciary. It was a good opportunity to explain ethic code of CFP. Also, I have a CDFA and some divorce attorney groups need you to have both designations to be a member.

My company offered to pay my way through the CFP program, on the contingency that I will pass and also stay with them for 10 years after the fact. Is this normal? It seems unfair to make me pay them back down the road if I decide to take a better opportunity. It’s a small business that is worried I will leave.

Absolutely hate consulting and been at it for 8 years. Decided to stay for various reasons - immigration, lack of good offers etc. But so glad that I didn’t take up any of those marginally better offers that were trying to shortchange me. Finally exiting to a opportunity that I always dreamt of. Takeaway: focus on what you really want and keep trying

Do you guys truly disconnect on vacations? Is it frowned upon? I have a vacation next week but feel like the expectation is for me to be available

I'm having difficulty making personal connections with students this year. I teach hybrid, so I have a room half full of students in front of me and half at home on zoom. I have tried playing educational games, I greet them each time I see them, I try to do small talk, I make positive comments on their work, it just isn't happening. Any ideas?
