Thought: Should companies not give full time offers to incoming interns if that means they will be able to layoff a smaller number of workers who are qualified to do their job and not underperforming?

Yes, but they all bent over to peer pressure and optics. Firms will all be smaller soon since there’s zero chance demand bounces back, plus many weren’t having great fiscal years to begin with.

But the cost of 10+ interns could be equal to one low performing more senior person and fresh talent.

My husband and I worked together at the same company for a year in different departments and they laid off 25 employees last week. My husband was one of them. 💔
It was dealt with poorly and severance benefits were bad compared to other companies we are seeing in the media. I’m really struggling to move forward and heal. The priority is for me to support him finding a new job but I just feel sick giving my time and energy to this company when they did this to us. any advice for strength😔

Anyone here a long term IQVIA employee? How have we dealt with economic downturn? Do we have yearly layoffs like Big4?

I was laid off today. I have 4 years experience in both sales and recruiting (heavier in sales). I’m devastated and also know it’s time to get into something different. With 4 (almost 5) years of SaaS sales experience I’m looking for advice to pivot into marketing, analyst, and customer success roles. I’m mostly interested in understanding the growth paths within marketing segments and how I can translate my marketing software sales experience into a marketing role. Any insight is appreciated.

Anyone in the AML/Compliance field? I have been an analyst/investigator for almost 3 years and have moved up with small salary increase two times ($5k in total over 2.5 years). I have a CAMS certification and have been on multiple projects while always meeting or exceeding expectations. I feel like my company pays fairly low compared to the rest of the industry but don’t want to be greedy as I am continuing to move up.

I apologized to them, and said it had been a busy day/week and it came out as a matter of habit and I was sorry for disrespecting. I was taken aback by the hostility, even in light of my mea culpa.
