It's opt in, just to clarify. Only expected that 30% will take it.
Not sure it’s going to be permanent, despite what the press release said. The internal application to be remote says through FY22 (June 30), giving them wiggle room to cancel it or they may just leave it up to individual practices from then on
Oooh I see. that’s really interesting!
Honestly, not sure how that is even relevant to a consulting firm? Even pre-covid, it was always either a client side or wfh scene. Now, if the client wants to back in(whenever they want to), you’ll travel and rest days you’ll spend at home.
Personally, I feel for people who have joined in 2020,2021 would always want to go to the office even if it’s 2 days/week to build those connections.
100 remote ???? Really ???
Chief
I would expect they will still travel to client sites but they can live anywhere.
When I was in consulting next door to PWC, I never needed to actually go into the office and it’s a massive overhead cost.
I also didn’t want to go to the office on Fridays to just add more internal work to my plate while the office VPN blocks my access to the client network. I wanted to WFH and spend more time at home since I only had 12 days at home a month.
What pwc2 said. People are misconstruing this as we’re all wfh forever. It’s just an option for people to use. And not everyone will (I will not)
I would love for it to be the norm. If anyone chooses to go that's their prerogative and hopefully those going in will not be forcing their preferences on their team members who chose not to come in. This is the way to go. Deliver your work - how and where you do it from shouldn't be a concern
100% remote doesn’t work in client work / consulting
The ppl who opt in will have a harder time getting staffed
