Actually I prefer working for upwork, but if you want to check other places. You can check companies you know to see if they are hiring another choice is searching on job search pages. Another option is contacting companies you did some work for in the past.
One great way to find clients outside of Upwork is to look for organizations that might be in need of a Community Manager. You can search for organizations online, or you can reach out to friends and family to see if they know of any organizations that might be a good fit. Once you’ve found a few organizations that interest you, reach out to them and introduce yourself. Let them know that you’re interested in helping them manage their online community, and ask if they would be interested in scheduling a meeting to discuss the possibility further.
One way is to look for businesses or organizations that may need a Community Manager. You can search for these businesses or organizations online, or through word-of-mouth. Another way to find clients is to create a portfolio of your work and post it on your website or online platforms such as LinkedIn. This will allow potential clients to see your work and what you’re capable of.
Start by reaching out to your personal network and asking if they know of any companies that may be looking for a Community Manager. You can also post a job listing on websites like Indeed.com or Craigslist. Another great option is to reach out to local businesses and see if they need help managing their social media accounts.
LinkedIn can be great for finding freelance work. So can twitter (or....it WAS good for freelancers). Word of mouth is important, and don't hesitate to do cold contacts.
