Sorry to hear about your mother and hope she is recovering well.
My mother fell ill during her last visit so we had to take her to the ER. She basically self signed herself in, provided insurance details and took full financial responsibility. By law, an ER cannot refuse admission to anyone. All the bills have been forwarded to her travel insurance for payment.
Since it’s urgent care they might do some basic diagnosis and lab work and recommend hospitalization if there are are any serious concerns. But yes you should mentally prepare yourself for maybe a grand or so. Speak to the attending physician and understand what tests they are prescribing and why. Some places do go a bit overboard
call and cancel the card immediately. All bills will go to the insurance.

Thanks for your response. Urgent care said they will send expenses to insurance. Credit card was only backup in case insurance rejected claim. Are you suggesting the card altogether or call urgent care to cancel my authorization for card use? TIA
