I'm thinking of driving to NYC but holding off because I don't feel like wearing my seltbelt while driving. If I can't drive without wearing a seat belt then I'm still able to sit in the back seat without a seat belt, right? Are there states with more lax seatbelt laws that I could drive through?
Perfect!
Please do not come to NYC unvaccinated. The Deep South is lovely this time of year - suggest you head down there
These are high tier people who you would enjoy spending your weekend with 🙄

Just get vaccinated.
Hmm... I'm already vaccinated and I still wouldn't risk eating indoors at a restaurant right now
No, restaurants aren’t lax about the mandate. Most New Yorkers are vaccinated and take Covid precautions seriously.
Please get vaxxed before coming here. You won’t be able to do much indoors without proof of vaccination.
Just came back from weekend in NYC. Absolutely need to be vaccinated to eat inside at any restaurant. They check vaccine cards and your ID before being seated
Don’t come here. Go to the south.
Museums/galleries won’t let you in. Every bar asks for a vaccination card. When eating out and getting seated, the first thing the host will ask for is a vaxx card.
Stay outta NYC.
Okkkrrr
Visit the red states. They are welcoming.
Well blue states come with little whiney people so maybe red states are better??
Talk about a welcoming committee. You guys are probably the most negative one sided bunch I’ve ever seen. Give the person the answer to the question or don’t bother responding. Everyone is entitled to their opinion or question, to shut them down for their choice is just as bad as what you think you’re “saving” them for by telling them to get vaccinated
Telling someone to grow up and you use that quote? Tell me that’s a joke.

People here are not going to be helpful lol. Take a quick scroll through the other posts in the bowl to get a sense of the general perspective and then consult google my friend.

I think it’s going to be hard for New Yorkers to sympathize with and help find workarounds for someone who wants to visit and go out to eat while unvaccinated in the city.
Just sit outside. Vaccinated ppl are spreading the virus indoors anyways. You’re better off staying far away from them as possible. Sit outside.
You should be fine. They ask for it and you just say you forgot to install the app or left the card at home. Dont try to argue and it should be fine
I am vaccinated and they let me in when i forgot to bring my card. Restaurants and bars are being pretty lenient about it and doing bare minimum to enforce the policy.
And if they are very strict then yes you can still sit outdoors.
Dont worry about the rude new yorkers in this thread, they dont have any manners on how to talk to people
Yup, definitely best to just ignore the safety measures and local regulations. Not a jerk move at all.

OP, most restaurants do ask for the vaxx to eat inside, but you can sit outside. A few restaurants said they wouldn’t comply so you can try looking them up. I don’t remember the names. I have also heard from the friends living in the city that sometimes they don’t ask or ask randomly so you may get lucky. The weather is still nice so why not just enjoy dining out stress free.

She has someone visiting her from Europe so they are doing your regular touristy stuff. Some of them happened to be outdoor, like Central Park, anyway. No problems staying at hotels, eating mainly at outdoor places. They were going to a museum yesterday, so not sure what trick they used to get inside to be honest lol.

Gotta come to Texas baby 🤣

Don’t come here. We don’t want you to visit if you’re not vaccinated. We especially don’t want you visiting our restaurants and attractions.
Seriously, after all the folks here who died in the first wave, and the relatively constant sound of sirens in early 2020, a lot of us have zero chill for people like you. Get vaccinated or stay away.
I’m pro-vax but honestly you’ll probably have better luck with restaurants in Brooklyn vs. manhattan. A lot more vax-wary businesses here from what I can tell.
