Gosh CFM, thank you for school all of us people who actually work on the agency side and have this exact job title. Your google skills have exposed a shocking misconception across the industry. I for one plan to march into my Accounting department on Monday and demand they reduce my wages immediate. I can then begin the process of mailing reparation payments to my past employers, though I dare not hope for their forgiveness.
With all CFM’s “mates” I’m assuming they’re a Brit. So maybe they’re thinking in pounds? In any case, with that misunderstanding of what an average is, I really hope their responsibilities are limited to making sure time sheets have been submitted.

Hey CFM, isn’t the "average" where you add up all the numbers and then divide by the number of numbers? I think you’ve described the "median" which is the middle value in the list of numbers
This is not correct. At least not for New York. Starting here is around $140k.
CFM seems like a real blowhard. Probably works in Finance.
Yeah CFM is way off for large markets. SF/NYC/LA will all be closer to 150k
NY 150-175 is the norm

Also numbers don’t lie, there is no fake news in numbers, no creative subjectivity.
If you can’t believe a person with a finance background, two reputable sites (Glassdoor and Payscale) that all say the same exact thing, then I’m not sure what you do believe in?
If the question was, what’s an ACD payscale within the big markets, then yes, the answer is $140-$170k. If you’re including all markets then no mate, the answer is closer to $100-120k.

Not to say that a company wouldn’t pay $140k depending on experience level and company size but mate that’s not average or generally starting range for most ACD levels.
My financials show otherwise, so does Glassdoor and payscale 😀

Depends on location of course but general ACD band is around $100-$115k, can stretch it to $120k if you’re really good at negotiations and experience of course.
