I think I get your point but there’s a different way to phrase this that doesn’t blame people for getting invited to too many meetings.

Depends on whether you are needed at the meeting, because your input is needed, or are you invited as a courtesy
Yeah I definitely think this is the case sometimes, and when it is I also eye roll and am annoyed. But have also been on the other end where I did a tons of back to back meetings I had to be in. Both can happen, neither scenario is always the case.

What do you call if you consistently miss important meetings where your input is needed, only delegate work to others and don’t show any type of proactivity. Yet you are a CD and management allows this behavior.

While I see what you’re trying to say, I’m lost on the whole entire problem here.. are you asking for management/ production to protect your time better? Are you highlighting a staffing issues? Do you, individually, need help managing your time? Or are you throwing shade?
Meetings are inevitable. and yes, regardless of what anyone tells you, only you have the power to control your own calendar through advocacy and communication. I don’t know what else to tell ya boss.

I think what my fellow SAD is saying is: how can we craft the work if we’re taking meetings all day? Some meetings don’t need every creative and most meetings can be summed up with notes and action items at the end.
For all of you writers that think you’re so efficient… you just don’t understand the difference in crafts. Writing and crafting visuals are not the same thing and the use of time is definitely not the same.
The crafts are different point blank. The use of time is not the same. Im not discrediting what writers do.
So please explain what I’m misunderstanding.
