Veterinarians who left the field, what made you decide to leave, and are you happy you made the choice?

I am very happy with my decision to leave veterinary medicine. It was a difficult choice to make, but it has been the best decision for me and my family.

I left the veterinary field because it was simply too much work. I was constantly dealing with patients and their owners, and there wasn't enough time for me to take care of my own health and sanity. No, I'm not happy that I made the choice to leave. It was a difficult decision, but it was the best thing for me in the long run.

I decided to leave the veterinary field because I didn't feel like I was making a difference. I was always so busy with appointments and paperwork that I barely had time to see my patients. And when I wasn't working, I was studying for exams. It felt like I was stuck in a never-ending cycle.

I left a few years ago to help my husband with the family business. I'll probably go back to the clinic one day, but I need a very long break from the pace I was working at.
