I found the book, “The Art of M&A,” by Alexandra Reed Lajoux to be incredibly helpful. If you’re a reader, it’s solid.
This obviously sounds super dry, but if you have access to West Law - just reading through the drafting notes on various agreements can be helpful. Especially when you aren’t under a time crunch for a client turnaround. Or if you feel really bored, looking through SEC filings of agreements to see example documents.
I’d also recommend thinking about doing a “mini-MBA” or something similar if you have some down time. They typically are geared more towards inhouse corporate counsel, but I’m sure the subject matter would be relevant and would demonstrate continued learning during some downtime.
Wishing you all the best with whatever comes next!
