I’m so sorry for your loss and that you’re both going through this. I experienced this and it was very emotional for both me and my husband. I definitely had a tough time when we found out. Its essentially a miscarriage, but people don’t necessarily look at it that way since you still have one remaining. It’s such a painful experience nonetheless.
We found out at 10 weeks that one of the twins had vanished, and a couple weeks prior we heard a very healthy heartbeat. It then gave us anxiety about the remaining baby’s health, but she’s the sweetest little babe at 4 months now - happy and healthy. Really couldn’t imagine two at this point, and I never thought I would be able to say that. Happy to answer any questions you might have, but just know there’s nothing you could’ve done. Wishing you and your wife the best of luck and a remaining healthy pregnancy and birth!
Great, strong heartbeat! We were told we couldn’t find out gender with the 10-week test as it could be mixed with the vanishing twin. Just something to ask your doctor about. Thats very exciting though, good luck! Wishing you all the best

First of all I’m sorry to hear about it! I hope it’s not causing too much stress for both of you.
Vanishing as not growing ? A friend of mine did and she had to partially abort her pregnancy to give a chance to the second one and I also read about some cases where one fetus can “absorb” ( not sure what’s a medical term for it) another fetus, that stopped developing ( but I think it happens at the very early stage pregnancy)
What did the doctor say about your case? Is there anything to worry ?
