Made it through another day of the Hunger Games!
Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

I’m sorry you feel like this. Maybe if you are looking for a new firm you can ensure they have measures to make you feel comfortable and included. 🫂
This!
Unfortunately nobody at work cares and anything you say can and will be used against you. I never talk about mental health at work.
Woah there I didn’t order a yappachino ^_^ haha good stuff 👍🏽
Hey. Strongly agree. You have come far and you should be proud. It's hard to focus on work when you're battling every day just to function. I've also taken an extended leave for mental health reasons (which work contributed to) and I really needed that time to focus on myself and getting better. If your workplace makes you feel that way, I'd suggest finding a new one. My workplace was supportive when I returned and I would not still be here if I didn't have that.
I know how you feel. My firm doesn't get mental health. I opened up to my boss and he told everyone. I think its key to find a firm that understands people need things to be effective at their jobs and to prevent burn out. I'm leaving my job soon and going to another firm that I hope is more understanding. At least the work life balance is better. Life is too short and there are so many other opportunities out there. Don't give up looking for a good fit.
Definitely find a new firm with better people! No one should feel this way. Don’t hesitate to PM me if you need someone to talk to.
Most employers do not care
This is already known
I hate to say this. But employers have never cared.
You are there to make them money.
That is the sole purpose of you being an employee.
I think most people confuse this with the fallacy that your job cares about you.
Your managers may care about you as a person. But every business has to operate and make money in order to continue doing business.
You’re on your own. I’m sorry. I hate saying that but the last person that’s going to come help you is your employer.
They won’t do that. I’m sorry.
I don’t agree with it. But that’s reality.
I do hope you overcome your traumatic experience. But I would recommend you take ownership and try to get thru it yourself. Your employer isn’t going to help you.
No matter what all these posts say. We don’t live in that kind of a workd
