West Monroe: looking for some insight to the company in Chicago. Recruiting senior managers in healthcare and life sciences and wondering if it's a good landing spot. Have questions/thoughhts (Cont)

What's the company culture and more specifically Chicago office interaction?
How frequent is travel around from Chicago office?
Any insight into the pay band for SM? I've read typically lower than other places by searching.
What's the work within healthcare and life sciences? A lot of HIPAA type assessments? Anything that is transformative work or system implementation / migration type of work?
As an SM, I know there's an expectation for selling work - anyone speak to sales targets and how pay is structured? I don't have quite the network to sell work yet and this worries me somewhat.
Any other insights are welcome!
I'm coming from another small firm and have industry experience for years before that.

Any feedback is appreciated!

I would avoid b4 on LSHC. It’s not a great career move and there is no WLB.

Wish I could bump this thread up 😂

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? For example, fees to keep bar licensure, professional association fees, CLEs, etc. I feel like there is so much on that end I currently take for granted being covered at my firm. Anything else I should consider?

I have been with my company for almost 8 years. I wasn’t certified when I started but I have been now for about a year. It wasn’t required before. I learned that my coworker who has been with us less than a year and had no prior experience in healthcare makes very close to the same amount I do. My boss says our rates are based on our experience which is clearly not true. One of our none clinical members who left was making the same as me. Does this seem right to you guys?

hey, fishies! i got a dilemma. would you take an offer that’s $5k less than your desired salary range/expectations? (e.g. you say your range is $115k - $120k & they come back with $110k). but also this would technically be a $5k cut from your current salary, which is pretty much maxed out for its current title/salary band.

HOWEVER, i’d be moving from a midsized agency to a very prestigious agency, which also covers 100% of your healthcare premium AND deductible…

🤷🏼‍♂️ In-house v. more trial experience? I’m a junior partner (insurance *coverage*) with one 2nd chair trial. I *might* have a few more trials in the next 3-4 years, but maybe not. Should I stick around 3-4 more years or go in-house at insurer now? My goal is to try to maximize my skill set and, if I go in-house, return to private practice eventually w/ some client contacts from my in-house work. Any advice??? I’m really conflicted on this. 🤔
