McKinsey & Company Does level and/or office matter for referrals at McKinsey & Company? A friend is willing to refer at the Associate level in my target office though I did not get any traction w/ the referral last year. I'm a Veteran so I also recognize there may be a resume translation issue despite the prior version getting me interviews with BCG and Bain. I have updated the resume since - though still wondering if there's anything else I can do to strengthen my case. Thank you in advance for any advice.

At McKinsey, there’s no difference. Digital consultants can flex and do anywhere from 0-100% of work in digital. It’s just a label that means you like digital work.
Not sure how it is at BCG— probably similar?
From the posts here/ discussions- DAS/ Generalist are on the same exact pay scale (cohort model) and up or out
No consequences as you can be cross staffed on cases
Would be different if you were talking about Platinion
Some from BCG can expand more

It’s a completely separate track and target talent pool. I am sure people have switched but it’s uncommon.
Thanks for the response! Would that mean the DAS track top out as Director (instead of MDP). There are contrasting views about this (Like EY1 mentioned) which is why getting confused. If I have a Bain equivalent offer on generalist track (in SEA) - should I prefer that?
