There’s more to life than chasing the buck. Never underestimate a good company with good leadership and good people
#1 is more long-term friendly
No brainer. #1 all the way. A 10% gain doesn’t compensate for “toxic sweatshop” even if it’s WFH.
Trick question, they’re all toxic sweatshops but #1 hides it better and you lose out on 10k and WFH
Choose 1 for your own sanity. And for what it’s worth, you’re choosing that for all of us as well, the more people that say “no thanks” to the sweatshops, the sooner that model will die.
1 for me. 10k isn’t that big a difference. Full remote is interesting but it sounds like you’d get run into the ground too much to even enjoy it.
2. Remote is the way.
Depends how important remote is to you
Depends on your priorities; remote is one for me, and I did choose #2 once. (Ideally, there’d be a third option)
Remote 100% … there’s no way I could work in an office environment anymore.
Also, being in an office with a potential toxic atmosphere when you can be at home and yelling in your home office is a plus. Not saying I’ve been there .. 🤣😬
I’ve been there and hated having all the drama inside my house. If it’s toxic it better be onsite
1 but I get to be in the office from 10am-2pm 🥰
#1 all the way. Sounds far more stable with work/life balance and that consistency is worth its weight in gold — or in this case $10k. Which means you can make up that difference in a little moonlighting easily, and be much more happy.
If both places were offering $10k which would you choose? After taxes, you’re looking at a few $100 a month difference max. Thats a couple of dinners. Or a gym membership. It’s not life changing money, is my point. So do what’s gonna keep you employed and sane enough to do other big things extracurricularly and beyond.
Problem is 1 will probably become 2 - it’s too hard to sustain long term and one good person in leadership changes - it all starts to slip.
2 can get better, you can work to make it work for you, and as remote you’re less exposed.
I’d seriously look further into 2
Rising Star
Bump that to 200k to make me think for more than .01 seconds
Number one for the work life balance and sanity. But earlier in my career I would probably go number two (that came out wrong) for the resume if it has a better creative reputation.
Not for 10k more. Maybe for 50k more
Is 4 days in office really better WLB than remote? Either way, if #2 is really toxic, don’t go.
#1… I’ve done variations of both and the extra money just goes to paying for therapy to deal with the toxic environment! Haha
Either aren’t great salary. But I think meeting up with your coworkers in person is important. The 10k won’t make much of a difference after tax and benefits.
Wow! Sofie’s choice. #1. 10k more for Hell? Nah.
